Dear Foodbank Visitor.

The Foodbank is here for you at your point of need. Being small and independent we can be more flexible than others, but our continued existence relies heavily on the goodwill and generosity of a small number of people in our community. We always need to prioritise those facing an immediate food emergency. A central purpose of food banks is to help people during a temporary fall in household income, perhaps due to gaps in benefits payments or some unexpected circumstance. The Foodbank aims are not generally for long-term weekly assistance. It is important that you do not run short of food, household cleaning goods or sanitary items, so do tell us of your need.

If you receive government benefits, do check that you are getting all that you’re entitled to. You can do this through the Citizens Advice service: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/ or online through Turn2us: www.turn2us.org.uk These organisations also offer Debt advice, as does CAP who have a local team www.capdebthelp.org
